Pressing and holding any button will popup a Control Menu.
For those actions such as `zoom', `pan,' and `context' you just need to move the cursor away from the centre of the menu (in the direction of the menu entry) to start the action. The action will finish when you release the button. Most of these continous actions have two degrees of action; ie move the cursor left/right and up/down.
Other menu entries are sub-menus. Move the cursor sufficiently far from the centre of the menu and the sub-menu will open. You can close the sub-menu by moving the cursor back to the centre of the main menu.
The only exception is to jump back out of a portal. This is done by clicking on the button in the top right corner. This button also indicates where you were before you jumped throught the portal.
Zomit requires a browser that is compatible with and enables Java applets (Java applets can be allowed on most browsers by selecting the appropriate option in the "Preference" or "Internet options" menu)
Zomit establishes a TCP/IP connection from your browser back to a port of a server at ENST (the actual port number is a parameter of the "applet" tag in the HTML page that starts the Zomit applet). If your connection to the Internet goes through a fire-wall that prohibits this connection, Zomit will not work.
Zomit can also be run as a Java application by downloading zomit-0.103.jar
