That evening, a special light could be detected in Elsa's eyes... A spark, like those one can see in the eyes of children, in the eyes of those who are engrossed in dreaming.

You should have seen how the young Elsa was radiant with happiness! Surrounde by friends and family, all gathered there, at the rendez vous she had arranged for them to uncover "The Cards Of Destiny": The Magician, the High Priestess, Temperance, Strenght, The Empress... the major arcana of tarot cards which the young artist aimed to paint infused with her personal vision, succeeding with unarguable originality. Long-fascinated by the symbology of this game, which is thought to have originated at the end of the XIV Century, the enigmatic Elsa has never ceased to share her passion - practically, indefatigably.
On watching her, with those immense eyes of her's (space probes in a never-ending exploration of the universe) and her disarmingly candid face, the seet Elsa is not too concerned with giving the impression that she is, simply, a charming young lady who immerses herself in Art to fill an existential void or to nourish a romanticism which possesses her. Alas - to be under such impression is to be utterly wrong. Her apparent fragility actually conceals a strong character, forged by many experiences, and a determination that is not easily made to flicker. After her studies in literature, Russian, cinematography and audio-visual arts at La Sorbonne, Elsa Dax is nonchalant about the master degree in her pocket. In the artistic domain, Elsa Dax is far from being an apprentice. The artist, who is the French exponent of "Stuckism" - a movement which is antagonistic to Conceptual Art - has seen her talent greeted by The Times, The Evening Standard, The Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden and even the House of Parliament, in Westminster, where its prestigious, characterful spaces became the natural dimension in which Elsa's works- visions and pictorial recreations of Greek and Roman mythologies - perfectly manifested themselves. She had always wished to exhibit in France and, in particular, at the Mediatheque of Aussillon. On making this come true, she says, she remains faithful to her origines: here is where her Cathar side is rooted, here is where it finds true expression.
During the vernissage, Elsa Dax could scarcely countain her emotion. Her mother Francoise Dax-Boyer, who is the author of the haikus with which the Cards of Destiny are captioned, must have been extremely proud of her daughter. To make the event perfect, the artist invited the public to watch her documentary about tarot cards, which had been premiered in London during the festival sponsored by the "Defis Jeunes".
With the cards firmly in her hands, Elsa is on the track. Destiny seems to be illuminating a secure way to success. The Empress keeps watching over her protegee, warning the Devil off, consulting Temperance...
She can be granted uninterrupted dreaming, her eyes teeming with stars, her fingertips overflowing with sensitivity.

Il y avait ce soir la dans les yeux d'Elsa, une lueur, une etincelle, comme celles que l'on percoit dans les yeux des enfants, dans les yeux de ceux qui se prennent a rever.

Faut voir comme elle rayonnait de bohneur la jeune Elsa! Famille et amis etaient la, au rendez-vous qu'elle leur avait donne pour decouvrir "Les Cartes Du Destin". Le Magicien, la Papesse, la Temperance, la Force, L'Imperatrice... Ces arcanes majeurs du jeu de tarot, la jeune artiste souhaitait les peindre amenant ainsi une touche fort personnelle, une originalite incontestable. Fascinee depuis longtemps par la symbolique de ce jeu qui trouve ses sources vers la fin du XIVeme siecle, l'enigmatique Elsa n'a eu de cesse de faire partager sa passion. A la voir avec ses grands yeux qui n'en finnissent pas d'interroger son monde, son visage a la candeur desarmante, la douce Elsa pourrait laisser croire a celui qui s'y laisserait prendre, qu'elle n'est qu'une jeune femme charmante, qui s'abandonne a l'art pour remplir un vide existentiel, ou pour nourrir un romantisme qui l'habite. Celui la, n'a rien compris. Cette fragilite apparente, camoufle en verite un caractere bien trempe, une determination redoutable. Avec un passage a la Sorbonne pour y etudier la litterature Russe, des etudes cinematographiques et audiovisuelles, une maitrise mention tres bien en poche, Elsa Dax fait voler en eclats cet a priori. Bien loin d'etre une apprentie dans le domaine artisitique, l'artiste qui est la represantante en France du mouvement "Stuckism", mouvement anticonceptuel, a vu son talent salue par "The Times", "The Evening Standard". The Jubilee Hall a Covent Garden, ou encore Westminster dans the House Of Parliament, ces endroits prestigieux se font l'ecrin des creations d'Elsa sur la mythologie grecque et romaine. Exposer en France, plus particulierement a la Mediatheque d'Aussillon, Elsa le souhaitait vivement. En le realisant, elle reste comme elle le dit fidele a ses racines, son cote cathare trouve ici son expression, son ancrage. Lors du vernissage, Elsa Dax avait beaucoup de mal a camoufler son emotion. Sa mere Francoise Dax-Boyer qui a ecrit les Haiku qui illustrent les cartes du destin, ne pouvait qu'etre fiere en regardant sa fille. Pour peaufiner l'instant, l'artiste a invite le public a regarder un film qu'elle a realise sur les tarots, film qui a ete prime a Londres au cours du festival qui recompensait les "Defis Jeunes". Les cartes bien en main, Elsa fait son chemin. Le destin lui semble lui avoir trace une voie promise aux succes. L'Imperatrice est la qui veille sur sa protegee, mettant en garde le Diable, interpellant la Temperance... Elsa peut continuer a rever, des etoiles plein les yeux, la sensibilite aux bouts des doigts.
