    Courses in the Fundamentals of 1st year students

        Over the past few years, computer science, networks and telecommunications have converged, bringing rise to increasingly efficient applications that transform the way we live, work and manage businesses. For instance, different multimedia applications with integrated images, sound and data can now interact through heterogeneous systems. And, wireless communication is fully expanding. Moreover, software programs are now used on computing devices of all different sizes (laptops, PDAs, mobile phones and other "communication devices") and co-operate transparently.

        Internet is at the heart of this technological revolution.

        Increasingly effective components coming onto the market and well-developed architectures allow networks, which can support these applications, to spread. In response to demands to send high volume data flows with guaranteed quality service, communication infrastructures (broadbands, mobile phones and satellites) are now capable of transmitting large data streams.

        Today, the question of safety of storing, handling and sending information are becoming a major concern.
